Four base classes. Three faction-flavored specializations each. The same role plays completely differently depending on which faction you serve.
Every player chooses a base class and a faction. Through the talent tree, each class branches into three specialization paths — each one shaped by the faction's identity, philosophy, and available technology.
Assault, Engineer, Sniper, Heavy. Every player occupies one role — switching requires deliberate choice, not accident.
Each class has three specialization paths unlocked via the talent tree. Your faction determines which three are available to you.
Twelve distinct combat identities across four roles and four factions — with more to come as the roster expands.
The Heavy class is the defining presence on any battlefield. Where an Assault creates chaos and a Sniper controls sight lines, the Heavy changes the nature of the engagement entirely. A Heavy with the right specialization can turn a losing flank into an impossible advance for the enemy.
The defining feature of the Heavy class is not the weapons — it's the platform. Beyond their personal loadout, Heavies have the ability to call in and pilot faction-specific heavy assets. These are not simple vehicle spawns. Each asset reflects the faction's deepest identity.
Heavy players must earn the right to these assets through accumulated war merit. When a Warden mech walks onto the battlefield, it changes the entire calculus of the engagement. So does losing one.
Deployable ballistic shield + MK48 LMG. The Bulwark creates cover where none existed, holds objectives under fire, and suppresses everything in the kill zone. The line does not break where the Bulwark stands. Melee: War Axe.
M134D Minigun. A pressure machine that escalates with time — damage increases the longer fire is sustained. Enemy formations that hold their ground are annihilated. Frontlines do not hold against the Redeemer.
Gothic-industrial war machine piloted by a Heavy who has earned the right. Extreme durability, area suppression, line-breaking capability. Upon destruction — Martyr's Frame detonates the Warden in a holy purge. The enemy pays for every kill.
The Assault class exists at the intersection of aggression and adaptability. These are the players who move first into a room, establish contact, and keep pressure on the enemy while the squad repositions. An Assault player who plays defensively is wasting the class.
Assault is the most squad-visible role — when the Assault moves, the squad moves. When the Assault holds, the squad holds. Every other class supports or extends what the Assault establishes on the forward edge.
The three specialization paths for Assault will reflect each faction's approach to aggression: Ardent favors high-damage shock tactics and charging fire; Meridian favors precision room-clearing with minimal exposure; Concord favors overwhelming coordination and wave tactics; Severance favors disruption, misdirection, and hitting where it isn't expected.
The Engineer is the class that wins wars at the operational level rather than the tactical one. While other classes control engagements, the Engineer controls the environment — building fortifications, repairing HOBs, deploying field assets, and keeping equipment operational through sustained campaigns.
Engineers are essential in the war's meta layer. A faction with skilled Engineers has better HOBs, faster reinforcement, and greater gear sustainability than one without. They are not glamorous, but they are the backbone of any faction that wants to hold territory long-term.
Each faction's Engineer specializations will reflect that faction's relationship with infrastructure: Ardent Engineers build cathedral-like fortifications with morale bonuses; Meridian Engineers deploy automated drone infrastructure; Concord Engineers construct rapid mass-production facilities; Severance Engineers rig improvised traps and disruption networks.
The Sniper class rewrites the rules of engagement for everyone on the battlefield. When a skilled Sniper establishes overwatch, the enemy's freedom of movement shrinks dramatically. Movement that was safe becomes lethal. Cover that was sufficient becomes a trap.
Beyond pure elimination, Snipers gather intelligence, mark targets for squad coordination, and can deny entire corridors to enemy movement. A Sniper with good communication is the highest-value asset in any squad loadout — and the highest-priority target for the enemy.
Sniper specializations will vary significantly by faction: Ardent Snipers operate with blessed long-rifles and martyrdom-fueled patience; Meridian Snipers use advanced drone spotting and smart munitions; Concord Snipers coordinate mass overwatch for advancing formations; Severance Snipers specialize in false-flag hacking and positional deception.
